Hello! Absolutely no need to iron! This is a remnant from when factory-applied DWR were PFAS-based. As Nikwax is PFAS-free, there is no need to heat activate it. Feel free to air dry, or if you're in a hurry a tumble dry on low will work as well.

Hello. I washed my Gore-Tex jacket (Millet Kamet Light 3L Gore-Tex) with "Tech Wash". Afterwards, I used "TX Direct Spray On" and air-dried it. Do I need to iron it afterwards? Is ironing necessary for the DWR to activate? The jacket label says it's ironable, but I don't understand why.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Paula! You can use whichever you'd like. The wash-in will be fine on that lining, so it's up to you!

Yes- you can absolutely use the TX.Direct Spray-On. Just be sure to clean your jacket first with Tech Wash and apply the TX.Direct while the jacket is still wet/damp.

Hi NikWax,
I have a NorthFace DRYVENT jacket which I think is dual layer but does not have a wicking liner. Can I still use TX DIRECT SPRAY ON in the same way as directed, even though it states “for wet weather clothing (with wicking/absorbent liners)” ?
Many thanks,
Shane.

If it is not submerging the garments fully then handwashing would certainly be the way to go!

Hello! For that jacket you would use Tech Wash to clean, then TX.Direct to re-waterproof. They come together in a handy DUO-Pack. Always clean before waterproofing!
