Inspired to take up a challenge for charity?

Are you thinking of taking on your very own challenge this year? If so, here are a few suggestions to inspire you to get started!

Jurassic Coast Challenge

21st to 23rd March 2014

Weymouth, Dorset

For a more extreme challenge, why not tackle a marathon a day for three days, along the Jurassic Coastal Path? Run, jog or walk this endurance challenge which features coastal paths with steep ascents and descents.

Brighton Marathon

6th April 2014

Brighton, East Sussex

A road race with gentle undulations that begins in PrestonPark then moves to the city centre and coastal roads.

There is also the option to enter the BM10k on the same day, which includes the first 10,000m along the marathon route.

Edinburgh Marathon for British Heart Foundation

25th May 2014

Edinburgh, Scotland

This is a popular marathon route, on a level course starting in Edinburgh centre and finishing in Musselburgh. There is also an option for a half marathon and a team relay on the same day, as well as 10 km and junior events on Saturday 24th May as part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival www.edinburgh-marathon.com

Oxfam Trailtrekker

31st May to 1st June 2014

Skipton, Yorkshire

A team event covering a 100km course that climbs more than Ben Nevis and Snowdon combined, in just 30 hours! Tough but rewarding, the route starts and finishes in Skipton, and passes through moorland, fells and stunning valleys in the Yorkshire Dales.

Macmillan Cancer Support, Grand Union Challenge

28th to 29th June 2014

Grand Union Canal, London

Take the 100km route of the GrandUnionCanal, through a leafy corridor winding from the centre of London into the beautiful Chilterns, finishing close to BletchleyPark. And if the 100km challenge is a little further than you’d like to tackle, there are also 25km and 56km finishes.

Breast Cancer Care Ben Nevis Challenge 2014

26th to 28th September 2014

Ben Nevis, Fort William

Trek up Britain’s highest mountain in aid of Breast Cancer Care and enjoy a stunning view over the WesternHighlands, then back down on a route totalling a little over nine miles. Two night’s hotel accommodation and meals are included in a reduced entry price of £50.

Cycle Land’s End to John O’Groats

Various dates through 2014

Pedal your way through Cornwall, across Dartmoor, along the Welsh border and round the Lake District into Scotland, taking in the lochs, the Highlands, before heading to the NorthCoast, and finally John O’Groats, totalling approximately 1,000 miles.
