For cleaning, waterproofing and UV protecting tents

To most effectively benefit from the ultraviolet (UV) and Durable Water Repellent (DWR) protection of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® it is best applied to equipment from new after cleaning with Tent & Gear SolarWash®. During use the equipment fabric will pick up dirt and other contaminants which stop water from beading on the fabric surface. When this occurs the DWR can be revitalised by cleaning with Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash®. Over time the DWR will wear off through use. Both the DWR and UV protection can be replenished by reapplication of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof®.

Solar Wash®

IMPORTANT: Shake bottle before use.

Product will come out of sprayhead as foam.

  1. Erect tent OR protect working surface and lay item flat.
  2. Wet item surface with water.
  3. Spray product evenly to outside of fabric from a distance of 15cm. For large items apply in sections.
  4. Rub in well with a damp cloth/sponge. Use a soft nylon brush if necessary to remove stubborn stains.
  5. Rinse with clean water.

Solar Proof®

IMPORTANT: Shake bottle before use.

Conventional detergent can damage water repellency. Always clean first with Nikwax® Tent & Gear SolarWash®.

  1. Erect tent OR protect working surface and lay item flat.
  2. Spray evenly on clean, wet fabric at a distance of 15cm.
  3. Wait for 2 minutes. Remove any surplus product with a damp cloth.

Drying:

Air dry only. Allow to dry fully before use or storage.
