As we head into winter, your customers could be looking to escape to the slopes for a ski holiday, as the 21/22 season gets underway. It will be the first opportunity for many to return to the snow following last year’s cancellations of many foreign breaks, and excitement will be building. To make the most of being back in the mountains, your customers’ gear needs to be ready to cope with the cold and the wet.
Nikwax has aftercare that will look after key items of your customers’ kit – items that many may not even think about when they prep for keeping dry and cosy in the snow. So, in addition to cleaning and reproofing snow wear with Nikwax Tech Wash® and TX.Direct®, your customers will benefit from these high performance products…
Glove Proof
Losing warmth and sensation in your hands in extreme cold or damp conditions is unpleasant and can be dangerous; you need good protection when you are spending hours out in the snow or ice. Waterproof / water repellent gloves are necessary for ski breaks; however, without adequate care, no waterproofing / water repellency lasts forever.
Glove Proof is a high performance, effective and long-lasting waterproofer for synthetic, leather, combination fabric, padded, or PU-coated gloves.
Our sponge-on waterproofer will treat all of the material, including seams and stitching, enhancing the waterproof protection whilst maintaining the breathability and the grip of gloves. Glove Proof improves the fabric tear strength plus, will not over-soften full grain leather. It is the best way to keep hands warm and comfortable whilst extending the life of their gear.
HOW TO USE:
- Ensure gloves are clean before waterproofing. Use Tech Wash to clean fabric or insulated gloves and use Leather Cleaner to clean leather gloves.
- Shake the bottle before use and press the sponge applicator to break the seal.
- Apply Glove Proof evenly over the material, paying attention to seams and stitching.
- After 2 minutes, remove excess with a damp cloth.
- Synthetic fabric or insulated gloves can be air-dried, or tumble-dried if care label allows. Leather gloves should be air-dried only.
TOP TIP! Put the glove you are applying Glove Proof to on your hand – it makes it easier to apply all over.
Visor Proof
Ski goggles or protective glasses are vital on the slopes. Not only do they protect your eyes from any ice or debris whilst skiing, they protect against wind and the glare from the snow. Clear vision is critical to avoid any accidents, water droplets on your ski goggles can impair visibility and could be dangerous.
Visor Proof is the highly effective spray-on water repellent treatment for ski goggles, protective sports glasses and motorcycle visors. Easy to use, Visor Proof will enhance clear vision by shedding water droplets quickly. Plus, as with all Nikwax products, it contains no PFCs or harmful chemicals, so is safe to the user and the environment.
HOW TO USE:
- Remove any surface dirt or contaminants with a mild soap cleaner and rinse thoroughly in water.
- Shake well before use. From a distance of 15cm/6 inches, apply 2 squirts of Visor Proof onto the outside face of the visor.
- Wipe with a clean, fluff-free cloth in smooth even strokes across the outside of the visor.
- Rub vigorously from side to side to ensure even spread.
Getting accessories prepared for going onto the slope are as important as general ski clothing and Nikwax can help ensure your customers stay dry, warm and protected this winter season.
